Which College Football Teams would you like for TiGS to play in future, if possible?

Dec 7, 2016, 11:48 AM

Schools we don't or haven't played b/4. For me it would be:

Michigan (blue bloods, #1 fight song)
Oregon (of old & crazy Uni's)
Texas (when good again)
Purdue (BiG 10 but easily beatable)
UCLA (just b/c & that Sissie Unc blue)
W.Michigan (to hear their coach yell out ROW)

Lots of others but your chance now; what wish you?

I like the rotating SEC games (other than SC that's annual). It's great playing Auburn and UGa with some regularity, but would love to add some of the other traditionally strong schools, particularly Alabama. If we make it to the Natty vs them, this could be the beginning of a big rivalry, but not one that would be played very regularly. UT could be a fun home/away series since they're just up the road, relatively.

I've always thought it would be cool if the ACC & SEC had a designated ACC/SEC weekend, kind of like the ACC/Big 10 challenge in basketball. That would make for a fun weekend of college football!

I wish all the FBS teams would pick-up their non-conf schedule. I like the SoCon games we play, since there's history there, but would like to see some bigger, better non-conf games scheduled for us and everyone.

Dec 7, 2016, 12:28 PM

we could get home/away dates set, but that's too good a recruiting area not to arrange a series with them if at all possible.
Go Tigers!!

Bingo, we have not played them since 1961.

Dec 7, 2016, 12:59 PM

Until I looked it up, I didn't think we had ever played them. Actually have played them 11 times, only winning 3. That 1917 team was SCRONG though, winning 55-7. I seem to remember a similar score lately.

I would say Alabama - but it looks like we're already on each others schedule at the end of each year.

Seriously though:
I think CLEMSON and USUC should each play an in-state school each year.
The Citadel
Wofford
SCSU
Furman
PC
CofC

I probably missed a few - but I like to see the 2 largest schools in SC help these other SC schools financially. We should always do that.

If we have played any of those, I don't think it's been in the last 50 years. Would like to play USC again, I think it's been close to 50 years since we played them.
