What is timetable for ACL Recovery for DW?

If he has surgery after the bowl game as planned, when would he be available to practice again?
If I remember correctly, Chad Kelly tore his in the spring game, but then was ready to go mid-way through the next season? So 6-7 months ish?

Half a year for the physical part is what I'm reading and remembering. They say it takes that much longer to trust the knee again. But they are talking about humans not supermen.

6-8 mths to be fully functional.. could be back sooner if there isn't much swelling

Chad was aan exception. Typically it takes a year to recover from an ACL tear.
You have to allow for the healing process, and then re-build the inevitable
muscle atrophy that occurs in the affected leg. They brought Cherone Peak along too
soon, and we see the result. To fully recover, Deshaun will require, a year.
This means that probably he won't play next season. Frankly he should have
the surgery right now. Top hell with the bowl game. Let Schleussler play.
Why sell out the future for the sake of meaningless bowl game?

DW will be back for next season. But I agree with why take a chance on the bowl game???

I guess Adrian Peterson was the exception too right?
This isn't the 90's anymore, huge medical advances as well as physical therapy advances.
Not to mention the doctors laid it out for Dabo and DW4: can't damage it more, can play if he wants to, can have surgery after bowl game and come back by summer.
Let's leave the medical advice to the doctors.

So what you are saying, slumdog, is that 29 days will make all the difference in the world. It is Dec 1 and we will play in a bowl that happens before Jan 1. I don't think you are thinking very clearly on this one. Watson will play in the first game of the 2015 season and will be outstanding!!

Not even close to 12.
He'll be able to walk after 2 months, bike & jog (no cuts) after 3 months, and after 4 months can start easing back into normalcy.

He could be ready to play in 4-6 months, but it seems most would assert the long end of that schedule, like maybe June. Cautiously as late as August. Spring practice is certainly out.
