We often hear complaints about the divisions in Power 5

and how one team's schedule can be much tougher than another team, because of the rotation of games against the other division, with some teams only meeting once every 8 or 9 years! Here is an idea that may work well in the ACC and other 14 team conferences.

Do away with the divisions, then assign each team three conference opponents, that they play every year. Then, play the remaining 10 teams once every other year. That would give you eight conference games each year,

For the conference championship game, just take the top two teams, using the CFP rankings to break any ties.

My 16 yo son proposed that exact idea to me about a month ago. He texted me a copy of the ESPN article saying he deserved royalties. Frankly, I think that system makes a lot of sense.
