WHY would Lawson pick Tenn?

only pull i see is Ryan Jenkins...
but he's just a friend-teammate...
seriously see no other tie to UT...
it's not his home state school, has no family there, certainly aint gonna complete for a SEC trophy or lol national championship there, may not even be the best sec team in the state (Vandy)...
Clemson > Tenn w/ respect to
- distance from home - greater need...likely starts - ACC favorites (i.e. BCS) - hopefully play w/ Mt. Adams, Gallman, Priester (all ga guys) - legit NC contender
Carl seems like a bright kid , no drama. Hope Dabo is gonna close this deal...SO HUGE

because they are Tennessee. Returning to superpower status has to start somewhere. Tennessee is a top 15 program with the best of everything (except in state talent). Let's not be so arrogant that we forget we are only a few years past mediocracy and they are only a few years past a consistant national title contender. Have some perspective.

cute. Actually I am a 2001 Clemson grad and a season ticket holder. The only thing I love more than Clemson is Miami and the only thing I hate worse than South Carolina is Notre Dame. I have nothing to hide bro. I was just making a point that we as tiger fans need to have some humility and remember more than the last 5 years. Do you think anyone said it was crazy for mark ingram and crew to go to Alabama when they had been irrelevant for the previous 10 years before they signed? No because they are Alabama. There are about 15 programs that will always be back.

Also, Tennessee was never a real power until Peyton. What do they have? One national title in the last 40 years or ever?
Pipe down, TN fell off in 03 when we stomped them in the Peach Bowl.

beat them in 2003. Plus they are on their 4th coach since then and what their second probation. Tenn is a long way removed from National Championship status they are a long way from SEC east championship status.

UT has the fanbase, tradition, and facilities.....
BUT so does Clemson....
My point is he has no more connection to UT than any random school, so why consider them over a preseason top 10 school - ACC favorites - instant starter- BCS contender.
UT isn't garbage, and in yrs past may not be able to say this, but CU is a better program over the past 3 yrs and for the next season to come

UT is a huge program. They will get better and he can lead that charge immediately, they have a winning tradition, facilities, good campus, great stadium and environment. If he chooses Tenn, more power to him if he thinks that is best for him. Would love to have him and thing he fits great here, but it is his choice

"play in the SEC"- UT is hot garbage so its more like get drilled by the upper 2/3 of the SEC
"Ryan Jenkins"- Went to UT because his Dad played there. So he will have a reason to play for hot garbage Lawson has a chance to avoid it.

Don't know about your claim he'd get pt sooner at Clemson.
Otherwise, I would think Clemson has more to offer, all things considered. UT's only "advantage," I would think, is the $EC brand.
