Vanderbilt looks to hire Jonny Dawkins

That would be a great hire for anyone. I’m not sure Dawkins would take a job for any school in the ACC out of respect for coach K.

He made 1 NCAA Tournament in 9 years at Stanford.

One good season at UCF doesn’t compensate for that IMO.
I don’t see any evidence that he would be successful at Clemson.

He must’ve become younger, more energetic, and a better recruiter

it's interesting how you pointed to his 1-9 NCAAT appearance

stat as a measure for success...
but refuse to use that for Brownell

I’ve never said that 2 NCAAs in 9 years here is acceptable to me.***

In this thread, you said the following:
Mar 27, 2019, 8:34 PM
|
|
"one good season does not compensate for 1-9 in NCAAT appearances"...
However, you have vehemently argued that last year's season for Brownell compensates for his 2-9 mark.

Do you actually read what people post here?

Or do you just key in on a few words and statements and ignore the rest?

are you denying that you have used Brownell's last season to

prove the program is going in the right direction and that he needs more time?
I hope that's not what you are saying.

I don’t think one season proves anything.

other than that Brownell is capable of having one of the best seasons in program history.
He has not reached the level of consistent success I want, but when viewed in context of the challenges he has dealt with, I think he has done a good job and I am supportive of giving him more time.
I believe we must address our program funding/support issues now. By doing so, we can see what Brad can do with a more level playing field. If he succeeds and has even more success, great. He’s our guy. And if not, then we put ourselves in a much better position to get a proven winner when we hire our next coach.
