Isn’t burch trending the wrong way? I think it could be close to this list though, maybe minus burch and total 21.

Burch didn’t come to the spring game. He by no means is trending the wrong way.

Unger committed to Stanford 3 weeks ago. Will be tough to pry him from there. Also I'm not sold on Flemming coming. If/when DJ Committs that may change but right now I'd say he is a Penn State lean at the very least.

I really think we get Fleming and the only reason I do is Jeff Scott, I can’t remember the last time he missed on his top WR target.

Fleming is a Bama lean at the moment. No secret about that.

DONT KNOW HOW OSU OPERATES BUT CLEMSON DOES NOT DO OFFICIAL VISITS UNTIL THE FALL SO HE IS NOT SAVING IT FOR US.

That's what I thought as well. I'm sure he will find that out with the upcoming coaches' visit.

Maybe an OL take now that DeHond has retired.

Agree with you on that one, DeHond stepping aside will definitely open a spot. Not sure if they go after another OL or skill position though (maybe just keep the scholarship in their pocket?)

What happens with DeHond as far as being on scholarship goes? We had Destephano a few years back that quit football due to injury and it seems like his scholarship was honored. Maybe a guy named Oliver Jones too. Pretty sure same situation.

The player can retain the scholarship, but it will not count against the 85 limut.

DeHond leaving does not necessarily open a spot. The staff has attrition already baked in to the 21-22 number.

I don’t know what kind of Coot Math you use but DeHond = RS So leaving definitely = + 1 scholarship no matter what Math you use.
So that gives us 23 plus additional xfrs.

I'd like to see this, always feel we go dangerously low on OL and use that bucket as the piggy bank to fund oversigns at the other spots.

SEC more than happy to oversign all the people, and then conveniently cut them later for spots.

I'm not sure getting 6 OL in one class is the proper way

[ in reply to Re: Updated Targets/Class ] |

to rebuild depth at the position. Maybe it can work if you play half and RS half to spread them out over 2 classes, but i think the potential danger is creating more imbalance and another OL shortage when they leave in 2023/2024.

If you take 6 OL this class you start the cycle over of taking small OL classes until you need a big reload. Would rather keep it at 5 (unless the 6th is Paris) and start to even out the OL to 3-4/year

Harrell and Ngata aren’t takes right now. Staff is holding out for Ricks and there’s supposedly some mutual interest. And from what I’ve read they haven’t solidified if there will be 2 RB takes

Will that most likely be based on ETN's season and the likelihood of him going early?

Based more on which high profile targets we land
Apr 16, 2019, 8:43 AM
|
|
At this point I think there’s a 95% chance ETN is gone assuming he’s healthy after this year. Doesn’t make sense for RB’s to stay 4 years if they’re feature backs because the NFL doesn’t like a lot of miles on them and ETN doesn’t have anything left to prove other than pass pro and catching out of the backfield.

We lose 4-5 DBs next year (assuming AJ goes pro). Do we need more DBs?
BTW, with Noah leaving, I think the number becomes 23-24 takes.

Looking at scholarships:
Apr 16, 2019, 10:53 AM
|
|
DeHond = 1 2019 graduates = 14
Probable early entrants = 4 (Etienne, Higgins, Simmons, Terrell)
Some others that will be draft eligible next year and could leave if they blow up: Xavier Kelly, Justin Foster, Shaq Smith, Jordan Williams, Nyles Pinckney. You can probably list one or two more, but none of these guys have seen the field much thus far in their Clemson careers so it would probably take a pretty huge breakout season for them to leave.
Possible transfers: TJ Chase and/or Cornell Powell - Either should be able to transfer after 2019 and play elsewhere immediately. Chase Brice - I hope not, but I wouldn't blame him. He's too good to stay on the bench his entire career One of the DEs - I have no reason to believe any would transfer aside from the fact that we have a ton of them and a couple will inevitably get lost in the shuffle.
Anyone else I'm overlooking?

I think very accurate assessment which is why I’ve long believed this class is more like 20-21 than 22-23

Believe there’s a couple guys who would be on their 5th year and Dabo only guarantees 4. Don’t know names off the top of my head but guys similar to like a Pat Godfrey.

So a poster on STS says he sat by a film guy who evaluates prospects for UGA on a recent flight. He claims the UGA guy told him the word is that Burch's mom doesn't like Clemson. The poster also went on to say that this was the second time he's heard this rumor. Any recruiting guys on here heard anything like this?
He also said the UGA staff has given up hope on Bresee and that they really screwed up with Murphy and don't feel good about where they stand with him.
