Paid $1800 less in taxes last year vs 2017 despite making $6000 more than 2017. Also getting a refund $1000 higher than 2017. Build the #### wall

"For 2017 tax returns (what you file by April 2018), the IRS has said it plans to issue 90% of refunds within 21 days. Some refunds could take as little as 14 days. That means you should prepare to wait three weeks, from when the IRS accepts your return, to receive a refund."

Had some extra income this year that was not taxed (enough), so I knew this would happen.

He should have just cut taxes and saved all the IRS labor of collecting, counting and refunding the taxpayers money. Imo, I love the tax cuts and the refunds to working class people but that seems to be taking the long way around the block.

via property taxes, so it's not real exciting for me.
I'm really considering just not paying anymore. My wife's job gives me a little insight as to the consequences for the dead beats in society, and to be honest, there don't seem to be many. Just be a total POS and not worry about it. Won't go to jail or anything. In fact, they might even send someone from the state out to help you.
I mean, if people can get away with neglecting their elderly parents, while collecting all of their SS/disability/whatever, and also be on meth, surely I can get away with a few years of not paying taxes on my boat or cars. Hell, my sister got hit head on but a clearly high AF driver, who had no insurance, and was pregnant. Nothing happened to her.

Everyone needs to enjoy it while it lasts because it is temporary (I know most people know this but some still don't). What isn't temporary is the chained CPI that was included in the bill that will make your taxes even higher on top of reverting to pre-bill levels once it expires.

I was looking at my W2s for last year and this year and saw

that I paid less in 2018 than 2017. We also paid about $1000 for 2017 taxes so I got worried. Hoping we're a little closer this year, but fully expecting to pay again. This gives me some hope that we won't be way off though.
