A month or so ago, I stopped at the rest area on I-85 and noticed an elderly gentleman there wearing a belt with orange Tiger Paws. I struck up a conversation and learned that he was a '59 graduate. I informed him that I was a '74 graduate. He grew up in Central and has since moved to Greenville. His name was Jim and we had an interesting conversation. When a guy wearing a Gamecock shirt walked in he jokingly whispered to me "We'll have to get rid of that guy". A couple of weeks ago upon entering the Bonefish Grill in NC, I noticed a guy with a Clemson hat. I went over to greet him and learned that he had graduated in the late '80s. Before he left he came over to my table and said what a pleasure it was to meet another Clemson Fan. Two great examples of "Clemson Gentlemen". I have yet to meet a Clemson graduate who is not amicable, whether you have known them for 10 years or 10 minutes.
