When you can't recruit high school players you do the next best thing. ..you recruit kids leaving other colleges.

signed out of high school.

I know this fact probably doesn't appeal to you, since it goes against your ridiculous post. I still thought you might want to know though.

Clyde Trapp - Jr.
Aamir Simms - Jr.
Hunter Tyson - So.
Parker Fox - So.
John Newman - So.
Trey Jemison - So.

I got no problem with that for a certain pct of the team.

These are the one-and-dones without splashy talent and you still can't build a program around, but they will give you all they've got for one season and appreciate a great school, coach and environment while doing it (great coach in every way except winning pct in one-possession games).

They can still provide solid leadership, developed skills and a mature approach to the game.

Some fellas find that the girl on the rebound can be a whole lot lower maintenance than the 18-year old beauty queen.

Honor is not a one-and-done. He will sit one and play three.

When you aren't talent rich, when you loose players to transfer, you almost have to get players back the same way. Otherwise, you're holding open try outs.

Question. What happens if none of the transfers picked your school?. Wouldn't u be down 3 or 4 scholarship players the next season. Just seems kind of risky to go this route every year

We definitely needed Grinde. Good news.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He's coming from Division III

May 9, 2019, 11:17 AM

I wouldn't get your hopes up that he becomes an impact player in the ACC after a jump like that.

Grinde is a transfer, but apparently only a walk-on

May 9, 2019, 5:54 AM

So I assume we’ll get another big transfer at some point. Maybe an extreme diamond in the rough, but D-3 to ACC wouldn’t work out well.

I hope so. I dont see a D3 guy doing much at this level. Now if you could get another kid like the one from Michigan that would be a shot in the arm.
