Crazy to think Clemson has the #1 RB in the country this yr!

1. Travis Etienne (per 247 Sports ranking).
They said he would be the #1 RB drafted next year.
This is going to accelerate our RB recruiting! (ex: Bowman, Ngata)
Add RB to the list of positions we start hitting on year in and year out.

Agree but we've had good running backs since I can remember, (mid to late 70's)

Unfortunately, we are not in the 1970's anymore. "Good" is considered average these days. The only RB who we have had in the NFL recently for a sustained amount of time is CJ Spiller and Ellington has had a decent run in the league too. But the best is yet to come.

Good is good average is average. Etienne is above both definitions by a landslide.

He was the best running back in 2018 as well. Only makes sense that it would be the same for 2019.

#1 RB #1 QB #1 WR. The offense may be pretty good this year.

Etienne will get dinged leading up to the draft next year for lack of production in the passing game. NFL wants pass catching threats out of the backfield these days. He also still needs to work on his pass pro, but he has a full year to do so.

And not getting all used up as the workhorse in college.

That's a lot to offer the future RB stars at Clemson. But also being ready to be that workhorse when called upon to do so, a la Syracuse.
Scary to think ATM could get better in the receiving game with another year and get even more ridic than he already is.

Think about the conundrum you put defenses in. Stop the best TB in the country? Or do we make the future 1st player in the draft and generational talented QB beat us?
If this offense keeps the outside noise out and "don't beat themselves"! It "could be historically good"! If they don't beat themselves and execute; make the lay up plays 1st. It will put us in position to be spectacular when we have to be on offense! Remember saying that when DW4 was here. But, I think ET is more dynamic than WG9. Gallman was more like Eddie George(Heisman winner). ET can at any moment make a house call on you.
Young Tiger Fans! Take all this in; it hasn't always been this good. Enjoy it and be thankful for it!
