Chanterelles finally made an appearance this summer, and I grabbed around 4 lbs on Monday. Made a pasta cream sauce with about half of them, and it's probably the best pasta sauce I've ever made. And let's be clear: I've made a LOT of pasta sauces, because I'm a fat.

Chimaphila maculata or spotted wintergreen

Don’t know why they call it spotted when it’s clearly striped.

It’s a classic southern woodland plant.
