Take the ball first or defer?

Jan 6, 2019, 7:17 AM

We should take it but can't have 3 and out or ball game over.

Absolutely defer. If we had a good punter, then you

Could take the ball. But going 3 and out with a Spiers punt to the 50 would be disaster.

How many times have the Tigers gone 3 and out their 1st possesion this year? How many of the 14 games did they lose because of it?

Defer. Dabo always defers if we win the toss. Why should this be any different?

so the game is over after 90 seconds??

I am guessing if you received Christmas gifts you returned all of them

You should have kept the one on “How To Form Sentences”

There is only one time that you take the ball first.

Is when you do not have the choice.

I've been wrong two times, but this isn't one of them.

"...but can't have 3 and out or ball game over. "

Really?? We've gone 3 and out several times in our early starts. It's how we play. We don't take unnecessary chances until after we have surveyed our opposition. Have you not been watching how we play? We're good. 3 and out will NOT be a problem.

Even if they score it's better to get ball first in second half.

Win or lose is done in second half not first.

You should always defer.. who gets the ball at the beginning of the game doesn’t matter... but who gets it after halftime absolutely matters.. if you’re losing, you NEED the ball.. and if you’re winning, THEY need it but ain’t got it.

Defer.

Get a pick 6 on their first play, and go from there
