For the cord cutters that have Sling.

Aug 12, 2019, 10:42 AM

Were you able to view all Clemson football games last year?

If so, which Sling plan did you have?

I have Sling Orange and I didn't miss any games last year...

however, I was out of town the weekend of the Ga Southern game so not sure if I would have been able to watch at home.

on ABC and Raycom. Not sure why the others needed all the addons...

I had orange and blue with the sports package add on. Every game was broadcast. Sports package was necessary a couple of weeks though.

I sling doesn't pick up ACC network soon, I'll be switching to youtubetv.

Ditto to "CUTigerDstomp"'s comments. "I had orange and blue with the sports package add on..."

Orange+blue and sports add on and I was able to watch everything last year. I also have the black airtv box and an antenna on the roof (airtv incorporates antenna channels into the sling app/guide).

Funny story about that, had a wedding in Columbus Ohio to attend the weekend of the Furman game (Clemson people no less!) . Anyways we took one of our firesticks and watched the game in the lobby of the Hampton Inn, streaming back my antenna feed (WMYA if I remember correctly). Led to lots of confused bucknut fans who ran over to check the score lol!

I've had Sling fairly recently and it's only functional if

you get the Orange + Blue combo package. If you want it for CFB you will also need the Sports Extra add on package and IIRC that was another $10 a month. I think the DVR was also a $5 add on so that's $55 a month and YouTubeTV is $50 a month ($40 back when i switched from Sling) for better service. Sling with the Sports Extra had a few channels that YoutubeTV doesn't, but it wasn't anything i missed when i switched. You are only missing like BeIN Sports (mostly soccer), PAC 12 network, NHL network, etc.

TLDR: Just get YoutubeTV instead.

Thanks for the tips. This is new to me and there

it looks like there are several different options for streaming sports.

The nice thing about all of the live TV streaming services

Aug 12, 2019, 1:33 PM

is that you are only committed to them on a monthly basis and most of them have roughly 1 week free trials so you can even check them out to see if you like them before you commit for a month. If you don't like one of them just ditch it and try another. It's not like the local cable company that charges an installation fee and then wants to lock you into a year-long contract.

Nick Offerman and Megan Mullaly. In regards to the Sling service - I think there are much better streaming options out there...

As I recall I could see all the games last year with Sling either on ESPN, ESPN 2 or ESPN 3 the others were on Raycom or ABC. I did check out Sling this year and to get the ACC package it is $40 per month instead of $25. Also they use to provide ESPN, ESPN 2 and ESPN 3 with the standard $ 25 package. Now only ESPN and ESPN 2 are available on the $25 package. Might still go with Sling but I will be looking at other providers. Any comments on them are welcome
