Clemson guard suffers torn ACL

Junior Clemson guard Clyde Trapp suffered a torn ACL in the lead-up to Clemson's trip to Italy for the World University Games next week. Trapp was among the mor Read Update »

Good grief

Jun 28, 2019, 7:38 PM

I've never considered Trapp an ACC point guard, but he was one of only 2 guys eligible on the roster who could play the position. Now its Dawes a true freshman and who, John Newman? I doubt very seriously if Honor qualifies for a waiver. Point forward Tevin Mack?

It would help SO much if Moore can get a waiver.

Well I would say "next man up" but....

Clemson is ACL-U right now. Poor Clyde.

Jun 28, 2019, 9:07 PM

Wishing a full recovery for him.

If Brownell didn’t have bad luck he’d have no luck at all. Amazing how many challenges he has to deal with during his rocky tenure.

Re: Clemson is ACL-U right now. Poor Clyde.

Jun 28, 2019, 9:36 PM

Wow! Terrible news! I've never seen as much bad luck land on a program in my life in one year! I mean let's be honest here guys... Transfers left and right leaving... , Multiple torn ACL by players, coaches getting fired. Coach leaves as well. Miss on Zion, miss on NCAA tournament. Did I miss anything??? It's apparent there needs to be better strengthening and conditioning around the bball program after 2nd torn ACL and not to mention Shelton Mitchell's knee never healed in 3 years being with Clemson.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Feel sorry for Clydd but Brad...

Jun 28, 2019, 9:38 PM [ in reply to Re: Clemson is ACL-U right now. Poor Clyde. ]

Is still responsible for the program and what we will be like as far as roster. If we finish last or near the bottom of the ACC which will probably happen he is still accountable for the results...

Agree w/previous poster about Brad's luck! DRad should have been thinking about letting Brownlee go a couple of years ago but, instead, he gave him a raise after his team caught lightning in a bottle and got to the Sweet 16 … almost surely never to be repeated. It's time to bite the bullet and sweep this program clean, as the 2019/2020 season will be an embarrassment. Most folks that I know who follow BB aren't really upset, but rather they just don't care any longer … and that's worse! Just sayin' …

You can overcome this Clyde! Godspeed for a quick recovery. Doesn’t sound like he’ll play at all this season right?

Can we get another transfer or something. Grad student or something... we need bodies.

Not unless they're a walk on or someone

Jun 29, 2019, 7:46 AM

else transfers out. We are already at 13 scholarships. Of those we now have 1 PG and one true post player who are eligible to play. Looking at 10 scholarship players eligible, 9 if Moore doesn't get a waiver

:( Transfers. Injuries. One true post player.

We're snakebit under BB.

I hate it because I generally like Brownell, but we just can't get the mojo going.

Re Trapp

Jun 29, 2019, 9:48 AM

Wish this young man a speedy and full recovery. I have never met him, but I have heard from others that he is an excellent young man with a great spirit! Let’s get behind him and this program.

Terrible news for our BB team, I hate for Clyde and hope he can back stronger than ever. But a real blow, now that is two out for the year on an already thin team.

May as well go ahead and give Brownell a few extra years

Jun 29, 2019, 2:09 PM

extension now with this latest setback.

Really hate this for Clyde as he was turning the corner down the stretch last year. Hope he recovers back with a fury.

Go Tigers.
