Surprised to see Bart Boatwright fired from The Greenville News

He always had great pictures. Was really able to capture the moment for his audience.
I have no idea why he was fired.

Bart took his son with him to the Championship game to help him out with photos/videos. The ones his soon took were attributed to Bart himself, which the Greenville News said was plagiarism. Total BS

Bart is one of the nicest guys you ever want to meet. And he is truly one of the best photographers/journalists around.

Really? I'm surprised anyone still works there. They just recycle AP stories.

Bart Boatwright is a great guy and well-liked by the media including me. He always did his job and did it well.
It's sad to see someone work that hard for one company and get fired after 29 years.

My Aunt used to work for Greenville News and was pushed out when they started sub contracting out all the work. They just cut and paste from other news services now.

Just a means to an end. Newspapers are slowly going away, many hardly have any local reporting and just recycle wire stories that are a day old. In today's world of immediate news it's an outdated model of providing news. Remember when Greenville news used to print the paper twice a day?
Magazines are next.

WYFF is a joke too. Live, Local, Late Breaking? My A$$. Most of their puff stories are about a dog on the ice in Kalamazoo or a whale trapped in a harbor somewhere in Canada. I saw the story of the dude riding the hood of the car in Boston three days before they aired it. The only people worth a flip on there (the night cast) are John Cessarich and the Amazon Woman (sports).

Recycled AP stories, and lame local “news,” yet they think they can charge for “exclusive content.” Gone are the days when newspapers had a monopoly on news.
It’s too bad they are treating longtime employees this way. Disgusting, really.

book The Greenville News put out about Clemson's 15-0 season.
Then I put it back on the shelf.
There's no way I'll buy anything from the Greenville News now. A lot of the pics in there were probably taken by Bart Boatwright himself.
I went online and donated the money to Bart's GoFundMe page, instead.
Felt good.
