worm on Lake Murray. I got that solid thump and reared back and set the hook. When I did, I lost my grip on a 200.00 rod with a 125.00 reel on it and "Bam" it was in the water and going south. I was in 25 feet of water,yet, without thinking I lept out of the boat and grabbed that rod just before it went out of sight. I climbed back in the boat with my rod and a One Pound peckerhead on the other end....It was then that I realized I had lost my 150.00 pair of sunglasses...........and about 3 casts later that I realized my pager was on my hip.......That was in June or July....I have always wondered if I would have reacted the same way if it had been late November...I SURE HOPE NOT!
