Sometimes it's helpful when you're pitching, and you are...

May 22, 2019, 8:35 AM

struggling a little, for fans to scream things like "Just get it over the plate!", "My sister can throw better than that!", "Settle in!", or "Are you sure you're not left handed!". A lot of times, when I was on the mound, I would forget to settle in, get it over the plate, and throw with the correct hand. Having someone's drunk uncle remind you from the stands was always appreciated.

"I've played multiple sports and would bet any amount that I'm still more athletic than you at this present time...."

"Concentrate."

"Just throw strikes."

I always thought you wood be the catcher but anyways, similarly, i

Always appreciated when the other team would yell hey batter batter hey batter batter swing. Because it always helped me know when to swing. That doubled my batting average from .110 to .220

Those are all great points. However, when I was struggling at the plate, often it took the guy who maintained the field to settle me down with a "keep your eye on the ball"

My mother, never one to let a child of hers struggle without offering a helping hand, would often give me this little tidbit "does your husband play" .

Glad you mentioned this. Seems so obvious to most of us.

But maybe others will read this and our pitching next season will really improve.

Thanks for taking your valuable time to help the team.

Hopefully Monte will thank you appropriately one day.

Or you could just repeatedly slap Bob upside the head

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

It used to make me feel better after a bad day on the mound, to go back to the farm, take a bucket of balls and hit all sides of the barn. Then take a boat out into the pond and fall out. I never missed the water. Sweet revenge.

My mom employs similar tactics with football

May 22, 2019, 11:38 AM

When the other team has the ball, my mom will yell things at the defense like, "Get him!" and "Why can't we tackle him?!" If it weren't for fans making statements like these, Im afraid our defensive players would look lost and not know what to do

As a pitcher, I also appreciated when fans, coaches, and other players reminded me to "just let them hit it" after each time I threw a ball.

Frances, are you sure you know where the mound is.

May 22, 2019, 11:42 AM

He’s the Texas A&M QB.

If people were as good as their obituary - and products were as good as advertised - this would truly be a wonderful world !!

When pitching, I always yelled "take your eye off the ball"

May 22, 2019, 8:30 PM

at the batter. They couldn't touch my 75mph cheez

Agreed sometimes it just does not work. The little strategies and the modifications just don’t work. But it is the coaches job to catch it and make changes as needed

I always thought it was Blue's fault if he did not call strikes like I wanted him to. I would even offer him my glasses. Our pitchers always threw strikes when I wanted them to.

I still have not been able to figure out if I am right or left handed, I am equally bad with both.
