Someone mentioned UNC could finish 9-3..

Sep 30, 2019, 9:25 AM

Is that probable, or possible, or what?

And, if they won out would they be our ACCCG opponent?

What knows you?

They won’t win out

Sep 30, 2019, 9:36 AM

They’ll probably end up 7-5 or 6-6

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Haha, wishful thinking, they lost to App State.***

4-0 App St. They actually aren't a bad team this year.

Say what you want - every team UNC has lost to is undefeated (Clemson 5-0, AppSt 4-0, WF 5-0). And every game has come down to the final possession, or even the final play of the game.

I'm not saying they win that division, but I'm not saying they can't either. They know how to stay in the games.

if they play like they did this past Saturday, they will

absolutely win out

There are three wins on their schedule including the next two weeks. There are three toss up games. I see one certain loss.

While 9 is possible, I'd say its low probability. I think 7-5 and a bowl is achievable for them.

I know we'd like to think they are better than they are, but this UNC team is not a complete team. They've gotten a lot of breaks so far this season.

Wake game was out of conference! Who knew the fortune that would arise from that?

My guess is that they will not be 9-3 but 6-6.

They will be a bi-polar team that plays to the level of the competition (or rather have folks play to their level) - and the goal is to keep things as close as possible and edge someone out how they have done in the past...

Is that probable, or possible, or what? I'll go with possible, but not probable. Their toughest remaining games would likely be UVA and Duke, and both are at home so that makes them winnable if they play inspired football. Most likely they will win a few close ones and also drop a few close ones as most of their remaining opponents are close to even with them with the probable exception of easier wins against GT and Mercer.

And, if they won out would they be our ACCCG opponent?
Yes, if they win out, UNC would hold the tie-breaker over all other Coastal Division teams and would play in the Championship game, since their only true conference loss right now is to Clemson.

no way, no how

Sep 30, 2019, 11:52 AM

too young and not enough depth

i think they will be lucky to end up with 5 wins

we will know a lot more after this weekend's visit to Atlanta...

but you are right, if they won out, they would be in the ACCCG.. the WF game didn't count in conference

If you lose to GT this year Mack should quit and y'all should get your money back...

Mack is already doing better than he did in his first two years back in the day
(already as many wins as in those first two years)

as someone posted above, i think this team will play to the level of it's competition, so a let-down is certainly possible this week

will be very interesting to see how they play on Saturday

This was a devastating loss for UNC, and unfortunately (but to their credit) they left everything they had out on the field Saturday. This game was their whole season. They are drained physically, mentally, and emotionally. I see UNC tanking from here.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Unlikely...

Sep 30, 2019, 11:57 AM

UNC played so far over their heads against Clemson, it's ridiculous.

9 - 3 P5 teams don't lose to Wake Forest and App State.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Meechigan finished 9-4 the year they lost to App State.

Sep 30, 2019, 12:01 PM

Not that UNC is that good, but nine wins are theoretically possible.

since 2014, as a member of the Fun (Sun) Belt Conference.
