Solution for "The Rock"

Personally, I think the rock should be retracted into the ground after games much like the Declaration of Independence is at the National Archives. It could then be protected against vandals. Also, it could rise out of the ground just as the buses make the last turn before unloading the players at the top of the hill. We would then be able to take this travesty and add to our already outstanding entrance.

spins underneath and the real one arises on game day as soon as the players get to the top of the hill! This way there will always be a pedestal with rock 24/7.

hydraulically pull it up into the scoreboard.

You could keep it visible, yet away from criminals (I refuse to call them vandals - that makes the incident look petty).

Think about the pandemonium that would ensue when The Rock rises out of the ground on The Hill. Ho-lee-shite. That would be awesome. We could add smoke rising, crazy music, turn the lights out for night games...I get chills imagining it.

actually....that pedestal that the rock sits on weighs about two tons.....so I think even though it is a wonderful idea....we can eliminate the possibility of hydraulics for that one....
