Sick of instant replay

Dec 1, 2018, 2:38 PM

Watching Texas-Oklahoma. Bad enough a noon game runs almost four hours. Tonight will probably be an exercise in sleep deprivation because of the incessant video reviews.

It's less a football game than it is extend litigation. I fully expect the championship to be decided by the Supreme Court some day.

We have had replay for decades, now, and it hasn't improved the game one bit.

Bag it.

I want to know why...

..those middle aged Big XII officials review the play on a cell phone.

"Uh, I don't know. The call on the field stands."

I beg to differ. You obviously don’t remember the days of playing UNC and the refs calling bounce passes a completion. I’m pretty sure they were round ball refs.

We do Chicken right...it's not just for frying anymore!

Uh, no? Get the calls right.***

Agreed. All those inept refs could ruin a wet dream.

At least replay helps them get it right sometimes.

"Getting it right"

An overused, hackneyed argument.

There is no replay in high school football. Yet the officials "get it right " almost every time. The games are enjoyable, they're over in about two hours and, if an official happens to miss a call, no one dies.

They're also 12 minutes shorter.

I can't believe a football fan isn't willing to sit there for thirty seconds to make sure they get all the possible calls right they can.
