Didn't take this lady long to shore up the women's

Feb 14, 2019, 11:17 PM

basketball program. I thought the women were a long ways off from this kind of year, even with a good coaching hire.

She is doing this with players that were already @CU I think. She has gotten a major buy-in from those.
she inherited. Now she needs to focus on drawing some productive recruits to this program & with this type play, she will soon do that.
I have been impressed since the season started.

If people were as good as their obituary - and products were as good as advertised - this would truly be a wonderful world !!

Stunning and impressive efforts. Go Lady Tigers!***

Should be ACC, if not national, coach of the year

Feb 15, 2019, 6:15 AM

for the dramatic turnaround she's put into place in just one year. It's very impressive.

Acid test for those who think coaching isn't that important.

Kind of reminds me when a guy named Pell took over a pitiful Clemson Football program.

I hope she doesn't get the team on probation then***

Yes congrats to our Lady Tigers!

This is what it feels like to have winning coaches enter our program.
And it proves despite grumblings to the contrary, No Clemson sport has to live in mediocrity.

I agree, there is no reason a place like Clemson cannot win in any sports. It's going to be very interesting how fast the new softball coach starts winning. He's an excellent coach and he's bringing in some great talent already. Players that were committed to Top Programs around the country. My bet is he finishes in the top 3 the first year and by year 2 or 3 is competing for ACC titles. Which means there's a good chance we could see him having his team in the college world series within 4 or 5 years. maybe sooner. Go Tigers.

And Men's basketball keeps looking up!

Feb 15, 2019, 10:16 AM

Hate to turn this thread, but I like the poster's assessment that no Clemson sport should wallow in mediocrity forever. I believe CBB and staff are giving their all, but I don't think it is good enough. Best is the Standard.

I vote for having her take over the mens program as well.

Feb 15, 2019, 12:50 PM

And no, I'm not kidding. She would at least bring a little fire to the sidelines.

The incoming recruits look to be reasonably good for a transition year from what I can glean from their bios.
