podcasts back around draft time. People at the SR bowl thought he looked fantastic and couldn't believe that he was there and that he wasn't getting any draft buzz. They also couldn't understand why he didn't get on the field more at Clemson.

After chatting with some other scouts or coaches they were told that Clemsons staff wouldn't vouch for him... which is very rare. Swinney usually goes overboard gushing about his current and former players (Watson is michael Jordan, etc) so the fact that the coaches didn't want to put in a good word for Fields was certainly a very big red flag.

I never heard any details. The one guy that claimed he knew more said it wasn't his business to discuss the details in public (understandable).

Maybe he had motivation or attitude issues or some of each.

I really thought he would be a breakout player last season. He had
some injury problems during his Clemson career and it seemed like
Dabo questioned his dedication at one point, but he obviously had
great potential. Hope he can make it in the NFL.

Dabo would not have even made a list for up and coming assistants prior to his hire. Thank God he is our coach!
