SEC's bowl season

The SEC (12 bowl teams) went 6-6 despite 10 of 12 teams being favored to win. Also, their 2 best teams, Alabama and Georgia, got dominated. Interesting.

How much stock do you put in conference bowl performances?

are any real trends. Bama got dominated by Clemson, but they dominated Oklahoma too. Does that mean the SEC is better than the Big 12, even though the 2nd place B12 team dominated the 2nd place SEC team? I thought at 6-5 the ACC fared pretty well, could have been 7-5 if BC got to play their game...they were off to a solid start before it was cancelled.

To me, that means they were placed appropriately within the bowl selection.


If you are winning more than not, say 8-4, they are playing down in the selection as compared to being 4-8 and they were overreaching for bowls.


Almost everyone this year was +/- 1 game around .500, including the 6-5 ACC (thanks to us). Only the woeful AAC was 2-5 and the Conference USA 4-2 were really all that difference. I am not including the bottom 10 MACtion conference.
