If you read the committee rules on venue, there is an outside shot we do go to Rose (probably unlikely, but still)...

According to the rules (sorry can't find the link, but I pulled up the PDF file and read the other day);

The chose of venue comes down to giving the highest rated team the advantage and no advantage to the lower rated team. They specifically state that advantages include distance fans must travel (and how for the opposing team must travel) and how familiar the team is to the venue.

Therefore IF the CFP chooses Alabama over OSU, Alabama would have the advantage of distance as well as being much more familiar with the Sugar Bowl. They also would look at the possibility of Bama fans already having an advantage with pre-purchasing tickets.

Think of this... assume it was LSU that was four. They would never have that game played in New Orleans due to the built in advantage LSU would have over anyone. Would it be the same for Alabama? Maybe... I suspect there are plenty of Bama fans that already had tickets to the Sugar Bowl; as well as NO being close to Bama... and goes without saying Bama knows the venue than we do.

Now how much the CFP sticks with this or how much it comes into play, who knows? They really haven't had this issue before.
