I love Bordeaux's, but I have a tough time finding them under 25 to drink consistently.

I like them too. I recently had luck at that price range and under at Total Wine shop.

I think it’s right on the cusp of $25 and under

Whatever you’re paying for! I mean whatever. My favorite reds are sometimes whites!

Chianti and Tuscans. Relatively cheep.

Chianti is maybe the best red for the buck.

Feb 11, 2019, 5:44 PM

In total wines they have a ton of good Tuscan wines, and Chianti's under $20. I buy wine 2 times a year. Usually around 10 bottles at a time. Always under $200. If I can find one or two good wines under $15, I might splurge on $30 bottle of cab. Wife loves Chardonnay, which I only drink with fish, or maybe chicken if it's "buttery" enough.

All other wines are weak/sweet/hangover types, or like Burgundy wines, too spensive.

I don't know a red wine from a white wine but I know purple wine well.

I like my wine fortified.

Feb 11, 2019, 9:18 AM

Yeah, I have zero palate for wine either. One glass can give me a headache, and makes me a much meaner drunk if I lose track of intake. I generally tend to stay away from it altogether.

Here you go

Feb 11, 2019, 10:11 AM

Here's 2 French red's that were recommended at Total Wine:

CLOS DE L'ORATORIE. Grand Cru Classe 2014 ( highly recommended )

CHATEAU FOURCAS DUPRE'
Listrac-Medoc 2016 Bordeaux

CLOS DE L'ORATORIE. Grand Cru Classe 2014 is 40 bucks

CHATEAU FOURCAS DUPRE'
Listrac-Medoc 2016 Bordeaux is 20 bucks which is more on the lines of what I want to spend. I can drink a couple of bottles no prob and just want t keep things reasonable.

I will try both though. Thanks

It would be interesting to see if I would still enjoy those. I may actually try one again one day for the novelty.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm not sure I could yet.

Feb 11, 2019, 10:20 AM

For a $20 bet I funneled an entire bottle of Snow Creek Berry once in Johnstone. It may still be too soon for me to taste that again.

Feb 11, 2019, 12:52 PM

Daily drankin wine limit would be at the $10 and under at the local Safeway. Gettin to that $25 range is a special occasion.

Gimme some of that Rex Goliath Cabernet for $6.99, $4.99 with a Safeway Club discount.
