Obviously, people are going to go back and forth on whether or not it is racist. However, regardless of anyone's opinion on that, the attitude is shameful.
To dismiss an American's views because you disagree with them and call for them to return to their ancestor's native country is flat-out ignorant and un-American. Trump and his supporters are also hypocrites in this arena as their whole campaign slogan and rallying cry insinuated America sucked and needed to be fixed.
Few things show a person's idiocy more than, "if you don't like it, leave!"

Don't like the way people voted? They must be inbred deplorables or commie scum.
Don't understand someone's immigration viewpoint? They must be racists or America-hating saboteurs.
We've stopped even pretending to be empathetic, much less viewing it as a desirable trait. It's something weak people do in 2019, and an unyielding and unwavering judgmental viewpoint on a topic, any topic, is somehow a sign of true character.

It never was just *YOUR* house. This is *OUR* house, and we invited in a guest a while ago. She needed a place to stay, and we had a spare couch. After a while we got together as a group of housemates and decided to ask her to be a permanent member of the house. We told her that her voice mattered as much as anyone else's and invited her to be part of making decisions for the house. We told her that her voice mattered and asked her to be part of making this house a better place to live. Of course, being a big house, not everyone agrees on how best to keep making it better, and some folks long for the time when there were less folks in the house (and even more pointedly there are some folks who wish everyone in the house would think like them), but we hear all voices and have a system in place for making decisions when folks disagree.
And there are some of us in the house who think the metaphorical "pissing on the couch" is being done by the folks who think any housemate who disagrees with them should shut up or move.

Trump is an askhole but he's always been an askhole. He was probably born an askhole and he will probably die an askhole but it's not racist to say love it or leave it. I've had that slung in my face many times along with every other kid with long hair in the 1960s. Rude as chit but it's not racist.
