Worst possible game to have a starting linebacker out:

Joseph calls the defensive plays I believe. Also, this is the one game in which discipline and assignment football is a must. There appears to be a big drop off from Joseph to the next men up regarding snaps and tackles.
This could be a huge break for Tech and could be the worst possible time for us to lose Joseph. Really no way to soften this blow.

I don't see a big drop off from Joseph to Davis...
The Tigernet article says JD Davis has 11 tackles in 74 snaps, and says Joseph also had 11 tackles in 139 snaps. Same amount of tackles, Davis has it though in less snaps. The main difference is in Kendall having a QB pressure and a sack. Davis though does have a tackle for loss.

so yeah, JD has just as many tackles in less snaps. That's what you consider a drop off based on tackles and snaps??

OP - we will be fine @ Linebacker! Shaq Smith is going to be a beast by the time he is finished here. Also, Tre Lamar has been relatively quiet this far has he not? Might be time for a big game from him.
And I agree; would much rather have Joseph out this week than next week vs. Cuse. We owe them and "they are playing well"! Plenty of motivation going into that one. But 1st, we have to take care of the rambling wreck!

Do you even try researching? JD Davis has the same amount of tackles with 60 less snaps than Kendall Joseph.

Alabama seems to be able to beat anyone no matter how many linebackers they lose. If we are elite, we should be able to do that as well. Go Tigers!

option is all about playing assignments. Neither Davis is an elite athlete. Both are normally exactly where they're supposed to be. He knows defending the option and the defensive calls inside and out. Much rather have Joseph out this week than next against Syracuse and the spread

Maybe somebody else will shine. His replacement should be ready. After all, Joseph is in his 5th year. I think we will be fine. I have faith.

Totally agree, worst possible. This is way worse than losing him in the acccg or bowl/playoff game.
