With all of the nagging injuries on Defense

Aug 16, 2019, 10:10 AM

is anyone else worried that the coaching staff is spending too much time with drills and scrimmages, and not enough time stretching the players? I happen to know that if you properly stretch before any workout, you can avoid nagging injuries.

I hope this is being addressed before the opener, because I would hate for us to loose this game.

A lot of this stuff comes from a lack of recovery as well. I know the other day they had a scrimmage then went again the next morning. Not great for someone doing that type of extreme exercise. I would bet though now that camp is coming to and end and slowing down they will be sure to get everyone back in game mode.

Kind of behind the times Balm. Yes, stretching avoids players getting nagging injuries, but it has been proved that stretching causing serious season ending injuries. I'm going with not stretching. As fas as loosing, that's another subject.

So true, don't want them over stretched, thinking if they just stand in place and shake all over for about 5 minutes they will be loose and not in danger.

Agree. When my dog showers, she shakes all over for at least five minutes and she seems real lose. She doesn’t nag me either.

I’ll be sure to voice your concerns to the rest of the staff for you.***

Thanks for the post. I'm sending a message to Joey Batson to get on this right now. If we flop this year it will be on him.

You have to 'play' through them, I get nagging injuries everyday. "Did you take out the trash? Did you remember to buy milk? When were you planning to cut the grass? Are you going to do anything today? Would you stop posting on Tnet?"

Bunch of kids, they don't even know what real nagging injuries are.

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

This thread is deteriorating into posts about naggers... I thought the point was about the injuries.

Maybe minor injuries are just a part of the process to “toughen up” the players and we fans ought to change our perspective and have a better attitude.
