What coaches will be gone from the ACC after 2018?

Sep 6, 2018, 9:47 AM

Looking ahead I believe there will be a fair amount of turnover in conference following the season. FSU will likely keep Taggart for another year, but UNC, Syracuse, and perhaps Ga. Tech, will likely consider a change. Everybody else at the moment looks safe in their jobs.

Am I overlooking any situation?

Pawl Johnson will put up his customary 8 win season after a previously abysmal season to save his job. He will talk about not having facilities like Clemson and sulk about it. Fedora is gone and UNCheat will replace him with a retread like mcelwain from Florida. Sounds like another school I know.

Agree with your list except for GT. I think Johnson does as good as anyone can at GT. GT is not the football school it was in the 60's and I do not see that changing. There is nothing to attract top players; facilities, environment, courses, not to mention have you seen the women there. Johnson's system makes the best use of the talent he can attract.

I think the alumni like to hang their hat on academics and are satisfied with mediocre seasons and beating UGA once in a while.

Cuse will not fire their coach. He is a great coach in a terrible situation which their Administration realizes. Given time he will win a bunch of games for their school.

I agree UNCheat will need a new coach. I don’t see any other changes unless some leaves for another job.

I believe all ACC schools have good coaches except UNCheat and FSU. Like the above poster I don’t see FSU makes a change unless they totally implode which is unlikely. I watches some of the Taggert’s post game presser and cannot remember a less impressive performance after a loss. He simply had no answers and did not seemed confident they could right the ship.

coaching changes are reactionary.let one big domino fall and things change quickly. one change can affect several schools. for example, what if urban and OSU part ways this fall? if "big jobs" open, fuente will get some calls. will clawson at WF get a better job? from a distance, agree that fedora, johnson, maybe babers are on the hottest seats.
