We know the two Ga-born NC QB's 4 Clemson but who took Dawgs to Natty?

And was he Ga-born?

DO NOT GooGle the answer please but guess from your memory!

I can not remember his name but of course I know the RB whose name reminds me a bit of a chocolate maker.

What know you?

He was pretty much along for the ride

He had been highly recruited, but he was never more than an average passer.

100% He rode the coat tails of Walker and a great defense coached by Erk Russell. That showed up very quickly when he reported to NFL camp.

Not sure he was average. His "skills" were exposed very quickly after he was drafted by a team who obviously knew nothing of his actual skill level.

One of the best bumper stickers I ever saw was "me and you and a dog named Belue."

That was one of my favorites from back in the day. In the old days, many of the smarter students would leave the state to attend other schools. The advent of "The Hope Scholarship" which provided scholarships to high school students from Georgia to attend schools in-state raised their level of academic achievement in the university at large. I don't think it has done much for their athletes, however, and the "Dope Ring" reference may still be appropriate.

Buck Belue. Football and baseball player. True story about Belue: He went to Herschel's High School to watch a senior basketball game Herschel played and recruit him to UGA. After the game, Herschel had two questions for Belue. "Will Coach Dooley let me run track and will Coach Dooley let me keep my goatee?" Belus replied, "You can play a spring sport but you'll have to get rid of that thing on your chin."
