a direct savings rather than an award. Something like $100 a year, get $25 off every hotel stay for a year, kinda thing.

Cancel the credit cards regularly and get the signing bonus for new cards.

For many cards that try to charge you an annual fee, if you call and tell them you are cancelling they will credit the fee cost to your account as long as you use the card a couple of times in the following month.

Some hotel cards give you a free night at each anniversary, so if you can use that, it is worth more than the $75 to $100 fee.
