say what you will about the NY Yankees

Apr 28, 2019, 5:19 PM

but those young guys they keep bringing up would be starting for most other teams. geez where do they find them? it sort of reminds me of our football program, "next man up." I believe they are 10-1 with their minor league team this year lol

$$$$$

Yankees have always tried to buy the pennant. Teams with lesser resources simply can’t keep up. Takes the fun out of the game for me.

Who on the team this year is bought?

Apr 28, 2019, 7:30 PM

I’ll wait. They got Stanton at a deal because the marlins just wanted out of his contract, judge: homegrown
Gregorious: unknown until he came to NY
Sanchez: homegrown
Torres: homegrown
Urshela: homegrown
Frazier: homegrown
Voit: unknown till he came to NY
Gardner: homegrown

What I’m trying to say is, this team is 90% homegrown, and if you want to talk about buying teams, look at Boston, San Diego, and Philadelphia. They are the ones who spent 300 million each on one player. The Yankees didn’t really try to go after Harper and machado.

Yes the old steinbrenner was like them as well, but it’s obvious his son doesn’t share his views. Which I for one love.

Wow! After 25 years of buying players to complete the team around their “core 4” they finally have an homegrown team. Amazing!

The Yankees haven't had the top payroll since 2013.

Last year they were 7th and they currently sit 3rd and almost $70 million behind the Red Sox.

The Yankees have not been run the same way since new management took over for George.

Their late 90's / early 2000s dynasty was largely comprised
