Absolutely and he should have won the Heisman

He was instrumental in pushing us over the top in the win category on multiple occasions.

A true MVP.

I was at the Wake game that we came back to win

And CJ had a TD run in that game and I could not believe what I was seeing when I saw how fast he was running down the sideline. I could not believe a human could move that fast. He was going 20+ mph easily

I remember in 09 when he returned a kickoff for a TD the announcers said he got up to 28mph. Freakin insane. So many memorable runs during his career.

Absolutely. Gaines Adams is the ONLY reason that CJ run

meant anything.

That was a MISERABLE football game until Gaines BROKE DOWN THE FRONT DOOR.

RIP Big ol Gaines - you are remembered as one of the greats.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

James Davis would get my vote for that title.

I think they are 1A and 1B. Many argue that Spiller never comes without Davis being here and the counter argument that without CJ it doesn’t matter - he made the difference.

All I know is I loved watching them both.

Anybody know what James Davis is up to these days?

Haven't heard anything of him in a while

I'm partial to James Davis and see him on Instagram sometimes and he's always pulling for the Clemson Tigers. I believe he's living in Atlanta and possibly working for the Parks and rec system but I may be wrong. I know a couple years ago he was coaching a young boys team called the Tigers but I don't know if that was a volunteer position or something through his work. I believe it was last year that he and Spiller were recognized at a game together and got a big hand. All above info may be off.

He (Davis) was certainly the first recruit of the era that

was a cut above the rest. CJ continues to grow in stature because he is still affiliated with Clemson, and is a great Ambassador for us.

the assertion was; the critical recruit.

while I would quickly want Davis added to a discussion about how we got here, but to look for a single recruit? I have to agree it is CJ.

Without Spiller we don't beat BC at BC

He was unbelievable and I will always remember that game

along with the #### game when Flutie beat us - the #######
