So what's the message now, Dems?

Nov 7, 2018, 8:23 PM

You got a lot of miles out of whining about everything Trump. Now you have the house so what's the plan?

They didn't have a message to begin with. With control of the house they a chance to develop one. Like you, I can't wait to see what it is.

They have always have messages. It's just a different message. You didn't try to listen.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I heard plenty from the Dems...

Nov 7, 2018, 9:12 PM

Like, "Get of of this restaurant you bigot!" Or, how about, "Riot and protest them!" There are more.... but, since we are trying to move forward

Rare and that's a tiny minority of Dems. I might as well say most Trump supporters are white supremacists.

Re: So what's the message now, Dems?

Nov 7, 2018, 9:02 PM

Liberal messages that they have been talking about. Same old stuff.

Prescription drug costs

Costs of college education

Pay disparities and wages

Social security

Cutting taxes for the middle class but more taxes for corporations and people making over a certain amount. They are always changing that number.

Health care and preexisting health care issues.

Environmental issues.

Infrastructure bill

Going after Trump's taxes and wherever that leads.

Re: So what's the message now, Dems?

I forgot to add that they will probably talk a lot about minority issues and women's issues, while not mentioning white males in a positive way or at all.

I see some common ground here. Many of the things on your list are things on Trump's list.

Prescription drug costs. Cutting taxes for the middle class but more taxes for corporations and people making over a certain amount. They are always changing that number. Health care and preexisting health care issues. Infrastructure bill.

As far as environment issues, IDK what the beef is.

I'v not heard anything from anyone about education cost. I know we aren't getting out of education what we're putting into it.

Pay is still rising and the demand for labor will promote pay continuing to rise. Choking a chicken is no way to increase egg production. If we raise corp taxes they will be prevented from dealing with the demand for labor. They will have layoffs and or raise the cost of goods and services provided. There's no other solution. Rich are going to make their money one way or the other. That's just a fact of life that dems will have to live with.

Pubs dropped the ball on healthcare reform. Let's see if the dems can help since that was the only talking point they had besides doing away with ICE.

How do you expect to do any of this without the POTUS signature. If you 'go after,' him how much cooperation do you expect to get? This defies all logic to seek to legislate and go after the guy who has the final say.

If dems do this they are shutting down some very important common goals between Trump and the dems best interest. Again, choking the chicken doesn't increase egg production.

Thanks for giving me a straight up answer. I'd bet you and I could meet and work this out to the satisfaction of most Americans whether they'd admit it or not. Now why the hail can't DC try and do this?

What you got on lowering educational cost?

Libs talk about the cost of college education all of the time and how people are saddled with crazy loans etc. It's a common talking point for them.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree, that's a problem.

Nov 8, 2018, 8:19 AM

How much money toward infrastructure would it take for you to sign a bill funding both that and a wall, not a short wall but a tall beautiful wall with a huge welcoming, beautiful gate?

We need to work some of this out. You're a moderate dem and I'm a horrible pub but I'm willing to make a deal.

Re: I agree, that's a problem.

Nov 8, 2018, 9:56 AM

They will pass infrastructure bills left and right with no wall funding knowing it won’t make it through the senate/president. They have nothing to lose. Just like when pubs took the house and repealed the ACA 12 times a week for years on end knowing it would never actually happen. Kept the base happy though.

Nov 8, 2018, 10:08 AM [ in reply to I agree, that's a problem. ]

I am all for a huge infrastructure bill, but not a dollar for the wall. Mexico has that.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You won't get a penny for anything until Trump gets his wall

Nov 8, 2018, 3:00 PM

I understand the pubs in congress are going to take up wall funding during the lame duck session.

Checks and balances. Something the Republicans care nothing about.

Given today's events, protecting the Mueller investigation is likely at the top of the list.

Also, protecting the ACA and doing their own investigation into Trump (likely subpoenaing his tax returns).

I asked this before.

Nov 8, 2018, 8:58 AM

How much money will it take for you to sign onto building a wall? Trump promised to rebuild infrastructure. I think I see common ground here. The infrastructure spending will promote economic growth and might get the wall built.

Re: I asked this before.

Nov 8, 2018, 9:55 AM

How about this, if Trump releases all his tax returns and pledges to no longer hinder the Mueller investigation and limit himself to one Tweet a day, he can have $1 billion dollars for his Wall?

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Really? You need to ask this question?

Nov 8, 2018, 9:04 AM

Attack Trump.

Don't think they're going to tackle immigration, the economy, HEALTH CARE, the deficit, or anything important.

If it makes you feel any better, neither would the GOP if they won.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-tiggity-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Health Care? Dem house would surely tackle it if

Nov 8, 2018, 11:53 AM

they thought there was a chance a one payer system would pass.

It’s the only big socialist style program I would support.

Free education? No

Federal jobs guarantee? No

$15/hr. Minimum wage? No

One payer system over what I pay now? HeiI yea.

Bring free market forces to Health Ins., do away with the arbitrary state lines, make it legal for medicare/medicaid to negotiate drug prices and investigate Hospital corporations who increase drug prices by 700%....for starters.

Too early for such a question
