Serious question, why is it so difficult to get the

crowd into Bank of America Stadium for the ACC Championship game? It wasn't even sold out this year, they had tarps over thousands of seats in the upper deck. Carolina Panthers games are sold out and fully attended most weeks, and yet traffic getting to tailgate lots isn't bad and getting into the stadium takes minutes. For the ACCCG traffic getting close to the stadium is ridiculous and getting through the metal detectors takes 45 minutes. Why?

It's terrible. We started making our way into the stadium around 6:30 or so - took us about 45 mins I'd guess to get through the gates. It's always a $hit$how..

Everything short of taking off shoes and belts. They had everyone placing their stuff in the bins, then walking through the metal detectors. Took about 20 seconds per person. Ridiculous.

It took less than 10 minutes for us to get through the gate. I thought it moved quicker this year than the last two at panther stadium.

We went through the South Graham Street gate, got in line at about 6:45 and it took ~45 minutes.
The dumbest part of it is that my wife and I both set off the metal detectors and they didn't even check us after it. Anyone literally could have had a gun, walked through the metal detector, set it off and the safety people would've been like "enjoy the game!"

My family and I walked right in from Lot 1, took us all of 5 minutes. We had luxury box tickets and there was a short line, took the elevator up with Coach Brownell and his family on the way up.

Plus a night game for the ACCCG should theoretically allow people to arrive in uptown on a more staggered basis than the 1pm kickoff time for Panthers games.

They block off all those streets for Panther's games too. It's nothing like that in Atlanta.
The lines to get in were miserable. I guess I'll go in an hour and a half early next time.

Based on advice from tigernet, we walked past the lines at the front and side entrances and went to the rear entrance on Morehead.
We arrived at the entrance at 7:45 PM and were in our seats in the upper deck ten minutes later.
They weren't wanding anybody and the only thing I had to put in a basket was my phone.

Then again i stripped down to my Duluth traders buck naked undies and carried my phone in my hand. It's really difficult to sneak in mini bottles this way but you just gotta make eye contact with whomever is in your lane. Well, now that i think about it they had problems with my nipple warmers and taint cream though ??

ACC does not put on a good game, I doubt the security is the same as used for Panthers games. They (security) were idiots, clear bags with one cloth thing in them and the screener took it out to inspect it... while everyone waits behind... phones? no issue press on... was a joke. Saw several people just walk past the screeners ... same dance every year.
They did this about as well as they did ticketing, you can read the horror stories on the board.
As for attendance ... Charlotte is a great location, way better than Orlando all around. But I also did not expect Pitt fans to trek south to a game they did not have much chance of winning, and rain was forecast... and they did not. I was surprised there were that many Pitt fans there so good on them.
