Question about the media's Ring obsession

Given how big of a deal some media members are making about Clemson not giving Feaster a ring, it left me wondering whether there were any situations in the past few years where another team (for example, Alabama) had a player leave at some point after the first game, but before the end of the season, and whether those other teams gave out rings to those players. Especially if they left under terms similar to Feaster.

I only ask because it seems to be largely the SEC media outlets focused on this. Has anyone seen this question asked, or know anything about this?

happy friday to you too! i can only assume they are (a) bored and trying to fill media space, and (b) jealous as hell that an SEC team got obliterated on the big stage by us.
