Would take about 50 million I believe to get out of the ACC. Plus, which other geographically friendly conference could we join? usUc would blackball us out of the SEC. I don’t want to drive to Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, etc every other week during football season. usUc tried and failed going the independent route and we probably would too. Don’t really see a solution.

It’s a good conference, and academics matter here. Just like to rant at teams that underperform like GT is doing here.

Do you mean Clemson...or the ACC? I'm just seeking a bit of clarification because, conference-wise, there's a 'ram's head institution' that would compromise your premise that 'academics matter'. ;)

Why would we ever want to leave a conference we own on the football field ?
If you try and start an argument that the weakest members of the ACC could cost us consideration into this playoff ... the last 4 years say otherwise .
Leave the ACC ? That would be good and dumb .

They'll hopefully get better after CPJ leaves . Hire a guy that can recruit ... they're in Atlanta and could build a competitive team from the metro HS players available to them .
It's a football school , I expect them to get better .
