Not a single thread yet about the shooting...

(Well, here's one)
Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing. It would be good if it's something we don't want to argue about. It would be bad if just doesn't move the needle much anymore.
I believe this is the 16th shooting event in the last 10 years with at least 10 people killed, the 4th in 2018. 2nd in a 2-week span.

He's fixed the problem, but it's still a problem and he's going to fix it.
Remember how he was gonna kill ISIS in 90 days and then people claimed ISIS was dead because of Trump and then suddenly ISIS popped back up in the caravan? He's gonna fix it like that.

He also said, he was going to stop the crime in Chicago. He said if Mexico doesn't deal with their drug cartels than we will. He also said that Mexico was going to pay to pay to build our wall. Nonsense stuff.

So the right has no scapegoat to deflect from the dire need of gun law reform. Thus, crickets.

It would get more airplay if certain factors were different.

1. The murderer is a veteran who didn't get the help he needed. Not a good look for the Military Industrial complex.
2. It was in California, which has strict gun control laws that didn't work.
3. He didn't use an "assault weapon" so it doesn't contribute to that narrative.
Instead of reporting what weapon he used, they should always be reporting what anti-depressants they are on. So obvious how that contributing factor is always buried.

False flag. Paid actors. White guy was obviously framed. Where is the Muslim illegal alien who really did it?

Has zero to do with anything I said. Anyone who thinks it was a false flag, crisis actor conspiracy, or believes that Muslims are more likely to randomly shoot people in the US is obviously in need of an adult.

I didn't think you thought that. I was just pointing out some nonsense that some people like Alex Jones spew. Just messing around.

Also, California doesn't have strict gun control laws on non felons. What gun law didn't work? That he was mentally disturbed? That's a stretch.

Limitation on the types of guns/mags you can own.
Nov 8, 2018, 11:43 AM

Waiting period, owner registration, and state permit required.
None of these are federal or normal.
Ostensibly all that was to reduce/prevent deaths in mass shootings.

The myth is that Californians think it will stop all of the bad guys. We just want to make it more complicated so limit deaths here where possible. This guy was a legal gun owner who snapped. He was basically out of the realm of being stopped with regulation.

The theory is that the gun type restrictions in place would

limit how many people would die in a mass shooting.
That's supposedly why the AR-15 is a bogeyman. Handguns are just as deadly in that scenario. The AR-15 thing is just politically useful.

US law enforcement generally disagrees with you about AR15 being the same as a handgun. That's neither here nor there. That would just be one law anyway. Some laws won't work as well as others. Libs don't think we will end gun violence. We think it can be curbed. Gun violence is here to stay.

US law enforcement generally disagrees with you about AR15 being the same as a handgun. Who said they were the same? I said in this particular scenario, they are just as deadly. It's a small confined space with a crowd of normally dressed people. AR-15 is better suited for more open spaces against people who may have some degree of protection/cover. And US law enforcement doesn't have a monolithic voice. Nothing close to it. That is a false narrative that became a talking point. And the only people who use it are people have little or no personal knowledge of guns. The difference here is political, not practical.
Point is, California's stricter gun laws have no demonstrated effectiveness. It's about politically useful perception. Guy easily killed 12 people in a state with the exact gun laws that gun grabbers want to be federal. It's not ideal for the narrative. It's a real-life example of the futility of those laws.

The gun debate is tiresome and even the shooter affiliations aren't as "entertaining" anymore. Sad day when a 12 person massacre is "boring".
