New Story: Elliott's honesty lands Clemson a 4-star running back

Elliott's honesty lands Clemson a 4-star running back

Recruiting isn’t for the faint of heart. There’s plenty of false information and fake news to go around, so when a coach is straight up and honest, it can really catch the attention of a prospect.

You have to love the integrity of saying up front

To the kids...You’re coming in to work to get what you want , not to have it given to you... what a great staff we have especially in the “molder of men” department

Total contrast to the Tommy Bowden years. I still cringe about the first play against Alabama in 2008 when Jamie Harper, due to a stupid recruiting promise from TB about getting the first carry of the season, fumbled. The rout was on and Alabama was on the way to become what it is today and Clemson was on the way to winning a couple of big games every now and then but just being a little above average and never great. I think about poor CJ Spiller who was our one superstar then and how he would never experience the success we have now. Yes, thank you coaches for telling these boys and their parents that you can turn them into educated men who will become outstanding citizens and wonderful fathers and that football is just the way to get there!!

Hmm . Honesty and integrity . Full pitch includes how hard it is , that you'll be expected to grow yourself not only as an athlete and a student , but also as a man .

Seriously, what parent or HS coach would steer a kid away from that ?

It's not like they could point to where it isn't working at Clemson for Dabo and his staff .

Outstanding .

Nope...and yesterday's graduation ceremony can attest, as well.

What does it say about our society when "Honesty & Integrity" are rare verses the norm?
Dabo is challenging us all (staff, players, students, fans) work harder to be the best that we can be as people and as Christians.

as they were boarding the bus to ride to the Stadium on his OV, extremely nice, can't tell you how happy I am that he is back for good!

I love these stories.

We aren’t just recruiting great players but we are recruiting great young men who want to commit to the process and the hard work that comes with it. The poor work ethic that used to be evident on our team in the Bowden years is long gone.
