Their defense is pretty stout. If everything holds, they’ll get to try their hand at Tua and the scoring machine. I’d love to see it.

If they play us.....

They won’t appear so stout when a real offense pounds them into the ground.

because our is nasty too. Don Brown is fantastic DC. He's right up there with Venables and Aranda.

I would put Venables and Don Brown as tier 1 DC's. Aranda and Jeremy Pruitt (pre-TN) would be 2nd tier. Bud Foster (at least until the last 2 years) would be 3rd tier.

There are several others that fit into the 3rd tier as well.

Michigan is the only defense that is on the same level as ours this year. Statistically, we are by far the two most dominant units across the board. There numbers tend to be a little better than ours, but they've accumulated them against some bad offenses. We have played some high powered offenses with Syracuse, Wake and NC State. A&M's offense is pretty good too.

its very good and Michigans D is #1 ahead of us. The A&M game is hurting our numbers a good bit because our defense was horrible in the 2nd half of that game.

The B1G has three of the top 18 total offenses in the country. ACC has two.

Their starters are in there 42-0 to try and secure the shutout. When you have your 2nd and 3rd stringers playing in the 3rd like Clemson does your bound to give up meaningless yards and points but That is why Clemson has been so consistent and Michigan hasn't because when the starters leave and the backups take over they have already played WAY more than your average newbie.
