Yep you can't let the statistical models expose the corruption, so you have to even it out. One of their favorite ways to do this is to call penalties in situations where they will obviously be declined.

Once the opponent has no chance and they’ve built up Bama’s momentum to make them look unstoppable, that is the point where the refs pull back and try to keep the clock running.
They’ve really got it down to a science, has been working flawlessly for years!
