backyard. Possibly Pavers or Stone

Any advise? Any idea what this is going to run me? The pump is not submersible, if that helps.

Did one about this size a couple of months ago. Did pavers (from Lowe's) and it was about $900 when all said and done (biggest variable cost will be the pavers and that depends on the pattern you do).

Biggest advice is to use these:

http://www.lowes.com/pd_345420-26467-345420_4294720412__?productId=3609858&Ns=p_product_qty_sales_dollar|1&pl=1¤tURL=%3FNs%3Dp_product_qty_sales_dollar%7C1&facetInfo=

They save you a shitload of digging.

woah...never seen that before

Nov 22, 2013, 12:28 PM

I assume, by your recommendation, that it works well, still?

Yep, saved me a ton of time, a little money, and a whole lot of Advil.

Just put in a flagstone patio 16x12ish

Nov 22, 2013, 12:33 PM

got the stone from a rebuild store (material from demos, etc) for $300 (very nice deal) and and cash labor for $1000 was quoted non-cash labor of $1500

If you live in the NoVA area I can give you my cash labor contact

There are some things you can do

Nov 22, 2013, 12:41 PM

I read through this article the other day:

http://www.familyhandyman.com/patio/build-a-stone-patio-or-brick-patio/step-by-step

One step I would do, is making sure to put down the landscaping fabric and having a flat, even gravel/sand base. You should try to do some yourself, it would be good for you and Brandon to get out of the bedroom every now and then.

nice surprise twist at the end...well, written
