Where you from? Sounds good but that’s not your typical South Carolina Christmas dinner.....

I was raised in California and I live in Florida. I grew up with no traditions. We always just winged it.

It’s funny to see how different traditions are even among family members. My wife and I argue about doing stuff her family’s way vs. mine. I was amazed when I found out a lot of people go to the movies on Christmas Day.

I used to go to the movies every Christmas until things got better to just watch movies at home. I used to love it. We had no tradition. One Thanksgiving we ate pizza one time when I was young, because that's what all the kids said we wanted, so we did it. I have been to a bar with family for Christmas. We never took holidays seriously. I have been skiing on Christmas, Surfing, and I have not even shown up at a relatives house before. I don't care about it that deeply, but it is a pleasant day always.

Well, it's just my daughter and I here today so it will not be the usual Christmas dinner. Had a big Christmas last Saturday with other members of my family and will leave later in the week for Florida where about 40 - 50 family members of several states will enjoy another Christmas.

Just put in the oven a marinated pork loin. Will compliment that with a baked sweet potato for each of us. Haven't decided on the veggies yet, will check the freezer. Banana bread or Cranberry tort for dessert. There will be sweet tea and White Zinfandel wine. Will add butter and brown sugar to the sweet "tater".

I've never been to a picnic where there was ever enough Deviled Eggs for my liking. A nice addition to Christmas.
