Isaiah Simmons is a physical anamoly at the Safety position

Thinking that we might get to see him play more freely this year after a lot of fill in minutes last season . , and I have been waiting for that . He is some kind of run-trucker , some kind of sprinter and he gives 110 % on every play he is in on .. and judging by his run-'em down antics of 2017 .. he is just never a guy that is out of a play ( in his mind at least ).
His leaping ability and unusual size for the position have me thinking he will be ( with Tanner Muse ) a fearsome Clemson back end !

Barring injury. He's more likely to take over DOD's role in the LB corps. Think he leapfrogs Jalen Williams easily and the only other competition is Mike Jones at that spot. Whichever one is better at not having blown coverages will win the job.

he has a chance to be a hell of a player, no doubt. but not sure he is a lot different than andy headen, terrence mack, etc were back in the day when we were using the "bandit" position. both were big physically for their era and tremendous athletes.

Played basketball one time with Headen, Tuttle & Frig. There wasn’t anybody on the floor that could stop Headen.

If he becomes an andy headen then we’re in great shape. Really hoping leanthony has a break out year along with skalski?
Just think we’re going to see a lot of quick stuff over the middle this year to try to combat our DL.

He's tall, with great speed and hits like a truck . Yeah , I could see the comparisons to certain players .
He covers ground in a hurry , watch him pursue the VT punt returner (2017 game)and prevent him from scoring . He teminds me of Kearse in that area . Q

I agree. Simmons is a beast! Jalen Williams has been a solid player as a back up. He too has a nose for the ball..

Agree on Simmons. He's one of those players that make you leap out of your seat just watching some of his fantastic plays. Announcers are usually in awe too.

I am wondering if he will be converted to linebacker. He has that size. He also runs a 4
3 in the 40.

I hope that he's playing DOD's position this year. However, I do remember him getting chewed out in the Ala. game after he was supposed to be spying their QB, and he got caught inside...First down Ala.
Also, there was a comment in this thread about a 4.3 forty...only on message boards, not on the field.
