The only reason we let ND hang around...

Mar 6, 2019, 11:02 PM

Is to improve our record in those 3 point or less games.

Mission accomplished!

Go Tigers!

I have to admit... that thought has run thru my mind about 50 times tonight.

I think you’re spot on.

We don't attack the offensive glass enough to score points. When shots arnt going down you need second chance points. Brad has them back half court before the ball has been rebounded. Scared to give up an easy point. I say commit 2 players every trip to attack the offensive glass. More second attempts means more chances of points!

Our defensive rebounding concerns me the most.

That ND team is beat up and playing a bunch of freshmen and was eating our lunch on the glass.

I'm not going to say you're wrong, but this is a "risk-reward" strategy.

When 2 guys crash the boards constantly, your other 3 not only tend to give up transition baskets, but they also give away cheap fouls.

A team with only an 8-man rotation, that is prone to foul trouble really cannot afford to send its leading scorers to the bench for extended time over cheap fouls given up while crashing the boards.

Not saying it can't work, but we would need to convert pretty frequently in order for this to be anything other than a desperation move.

I'm referring to crashing the Offensive Glass.

There is no excuse for poor defensive rebounding, except on missed 3s.
