Free Rivals article.

He's the man that got things rolling...

...and cleary we have Dabo to thank for believing. In my mind Spiller is the 5 star player that showed it's okay to go to a small college like Clemson and make a difference. Spiller to me will always be the guy that helped to get us out of our "lost decade".

And he ain't done yet!

CJ continues to give back to the program. He is at practice weekly and has a relationship with the players. He seems to be making Clemson home. So glad he chose us.

I don't think there's a former player that loves Clemson more than CJ.

I wonder where that business card is?***

There's something in these hills.

This has been an interesting series so far and a fun way to look at the contribution of CJ. All the what ifs. Dabo Man of Destiny it seems :)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That is a bit of an exaggeration IMO.

But he was definitely an important recruit who did a lot for the program, and still does.

"Everybody needs to know that Coach Brownell is arguably the best coach to come through Clemson." -PJ Hall

Spiller was one of, if not THE, greatest RB in Clemson

football history. It was a privilege getting to watch him during his collegiate career....and his devotion to our alma mater has extended far beyond his diploma. That said, the article above makes some good points but it doesn't mention ANY of the other star players who chose Clemson when it really was a small college in Upstate SC--and in that sense throws a bit of shade towards those who brought gridiron glory to Death Valley in the past....Clemson did win a National Championship before 2016 as I remember

This is one of those discussions in which great heroes from a frequently glorious past are brought to memory once more. Glad all of them donned a Tiger uniform on Saturdays

a bit short-sighted...Clemson football didn't begin in 2006

Oct 9, 2018, 3:07 PM

If Clemson did not win a game during or after Spiller joined the team, they would still have a better program resume than a ton of other schools (many conference championships and a National Championship).
