Future BB Coaches

Feb 20, 2019, 4:30 PM

Who are current NCAA BB coaches that are likely to take coach K's job at Duke, Self's job at Kansas, William's at NC or Boeheim at Syracuse when they retire or move on? Although I have never advocated for replacing CBB, one of the future replacements for the coaches above may be the way the Tigers should go.

Self may be out of a job at the end of the year...

the NCAA storm clouds are forming around Kansas and Arizona (doubt our old friend Will Wade is safe at LSU either), among other places.

So Kansas may have this issue sooner rather than later.

If Hopkins is successful at Washington (and he's well on his way), I could see him going back to Cuse after Boeheim retires.

I'm all for going for an established coach at one of the smaller schools or a school in a lesser conference, like Wojo at Marquette or Cooley from Providence or Musselman from Nevada (doubt we could get him though). Even Kelvin Sampson would get a call.

Maybe I didn't comprehend properly?

There has to be a rising star coach at a mid-major that is being watched by the big schools of the need comes. Clemson needs to strike first.

Coach Cutcliffe is at Duke, UNC just got a new coach

in Mack Brown, I couldn't even tell you who the coach is at Kansas and Babers is at Syracuse.

Granted, Cutcliffe and Brown won't be there in the long term, but I'll take my chances with Dabo over anyone who would want to take those jobs.
