Is it just me or has anybody else had Ga. fans feeling bitter toward our beat down of ND?

I can't answer for all Dawg fans but I was glad Clemson won. I hope they beat Bama. I get why ND was in the playoff over UGA but no way is ND a better team.

We would have still played ND. Ga would played Bama and lost again.

I understand it’s about the four best teams, but I personally think it should be four most deserving, and here’s why:
Say that Alabama this year went 6-6, and their only six losses were by a last minute field goal to put the opposing team ahead by one point, would you put them in the playoff? No, because they haven’t earned the right to play for a national championship. Tua may play like a heisman trophy winner and they may be one of the four best by that logic, but they haven’t earned it.
This was the case for UGA this year. I think that they were better that Notre Dame and OU, but they lost by 20 points to LSU (a fraud), and let Bama come back in the SEC championship. They didn’t earn a playoff spot, hence them being left out (same goes for OSU).

Spot on! Agree 100%. At some point losing matters.

At “every” point losing matters. Fixed it for you.

I also think UGA is better than ND

But we can’t go around deciding who’s “better” despite what happens on the field. This “four best teams” based on “eye tests” will be the ruination of the 4 team playoff. UGA had the unfortunate route of playing Bama, ND did not. But ND wasn’t going to ultimately avoid Bama or Clemson. We needed to verify 12-0 ND couldn’t beat the best. It’s really about finding 1 team that can hoist the Natty. So losing to Bama (for a championship) means UGA had their shot. Oklahoma has now had theirs. Bama will finally face their test on Monday.

For all practical purposes UGA was in the playoffs. You played Bama in the SECCG, and you had the opportunity to win and advance - so the bracketed CFP is semantics - 1 played 5 (a play-in game in essence). I get it - Lets quit warming up with FCS opponents, play our conference schedule (and Power 5 OOC opponents if you want) and start a playoff sooner with more included.

Bama to win a Natty. They set themselves up to do it, and then, in true Jawja fashion, CHOKED AGAIN! They have no one to blame but themselves, and did not deserve another chance. The Committee agreed, THE END.
