Didn’t know Michigan’s coach was assistant for Legget

Jun 15, 2019, 2:13 PM

Geez, Jack produced some great coaches. Why didn’t we hire one of them again?

Because they all told DRad he's a moran for firing Jack...

Jun 15, 2019, 2:16 PM

Four years later and I agree.

They should have told Terry Dumb Phillips he was a moron for not firing Jack and promoting any of them. Jack Leg was a colossal jerk!

So we should have kept Leggett even though we could not beat the coots or advance in the regionals.
But yet we should fire Monte for doing the exact same with one exception. He has beaten the coots.
Some logic needs to be applied here folks.

Jack Leggett advanced to 11 Super Regionals and 6 College World Series in 22 seasons. Monte Lee has been to 1 Super Regional in his career. And he lost that one at home. We have declined within our own ACC Division during Monte Lee's tenure. We have finished 4th two of the last four years. Jack finished 4th in the division once in decade of divisional play. Firing Jack was a boneheaded move in the first place. The way it was handled ensures that no prominent coach will be coming to Clemson until after Dan Radakovich is gone.

Brownell @Clemson: 8 seasons ranked 50th or worse by Sports Reference’s SRS

Firing Jack was akin to firing Jim Savis. Will take a long time to recover.

We can’t do that now either.***

I wouldn't be so quick to brag about Monte's coot victories. They (uofsc) haven't exactly been setting the world on fire during the past 4 years. You could actually say that they have sucked.

Jack's record against a much stronger coot squad was competitive. Sure, we lost games to them in the CWS that we shouldn't have, but they weren't slouches those years either.

Didn't we win the regular season series against the coots one (or maybe both) of the years they won it all?

Saying Jack couldn't beat the coots is a gross mis-characterization.

Because they are all pissed at DRAD. Bakich even

Jun 15, 2019, 8:21 PM

said he wanted nothing to do with our coaching search. Said his loyalty was to Leggett. Corbin and Sully were both critical as well.
