Nuke Hopkins, Superstar...The grand standers are a dime a dozen... a couple of guys on offense and a Monster in Watts and these guys will be playing deep into January... And they are fun as hail to watch...And eyes=$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I remember watching Nuk as a high school senior WR. A number of years earlier, I watched Kobe Bryant play basketball as a high school senior. In both cases, they stood apart, not just figuratively, but also in a physical, spatial sense. Neither of them in warm ups looked like they were really part of the team. They were off doing their own thing.

Interesting to see them as kids--did you think that they would be the big stars that they became? I remember thinking Nuk had better hands than Sammy during that first season that we had both.

With Kobe, absolutely. I called in to a local talk radio show and told them that Kobe would not only jump directly from high school to the NBA, but would be a big star. The talk show host pooh-poohed the idea.
